| The Downdraft is a freestanding unit that sits in the sump below the tank
The Down Draft Skimmer has the advantage of being able to turn over large volumes of water over making them suitable for all tanks in particular larger systems.
This skimmer requires a high output power head/pump to be connected to the long tube, which smashes the water over several bio balls. The water is smashed and
resmashed in the tower. By the time the water reaches the sump at its base the water is a sea of foam. The baffle inside creates dwell time and allows protein
rich foam to rise up into the collection cup and protein depleted water to flow out into the trickle system via a tap.
The units come supplied with 2 x easy to exchange injectors making it possible to increase or decrease power head/pump outputs. |
